The Emirate of Ajman is one of the seven emirates (states) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is situated on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, extending over a distance of 16 kilometers, between the Emirates of Umm Al-Quwain and Sharjah. It is about 30 km from Dubai International Airport (DXB). It has fine sandy beach Corniche and has the distinction of possessing the largest boat building yard. While staying in Ajman, it is rather easy to make short trips to Sharjah and Dubai. Sharjah has many museums and heritage sites while Dubai is famous for its excellent shopping malls and numerous entertainment and leisure activities. The diversity of cuisine in UAE is a reflection of the cosmopolitan nature of the society. The climate of Ajman is hot and humid in summer but winter is quite pleasant with scanty rainfall. In December, the mean temperature is around 22°C (72 °F).
